One of Ozarks Food Harvest’s most recognizable fundraisers is the annual holiday hunger awareness and fund drive, Check Out Hunger. Every year from mid-November through the end of December, local hometown grocers across The Food Bank’s service area partner with Ozarks Food Harvest to display Check Out Hunger signage.
Shoppers will find Put Hunger to Rest displays in the check-out lanes at their local supermarkets. When a shopper chooses to add a $1 tax-free donation to his or her grocery bill, the cashier simply scans the donation barcode and the donor has the opportunity to sign a donor card for display. The donation is added to the bill and appears on the receipt.
Give generously when you see the Check Out Hunger displays in your supermarket. For every $1 donated The Food Bank provides $10 worth of food distribution across the Ozarks. Please support the participating local hometown grocers who partner with the community food bank annually: Akin's, Country Mart, Bistro Market, Dillon Stores, Harter House, Murfin's Market, Price Cutter, Ramey, Save-A-Lot, Smillie's, Smitty's, Summer Fresh & Woods.
Look for displays and scan cards in the check-out aisles of the above grocers in the following communities: Aurora, Bolivar, Branson, Branson West, Buffalo, Carl Junction, Carthage, Cassville, Clever, Conway, El Dorado Springs, Fair Grove, Forsyth, Granby, Greenfield, Hollister, Joplin, Lamar, Lebanon, Marionville, Marshfield, Monett, Mt. Vernon, Neosho, Nevada, Nixa, Ozark, Purdy, Republic, Seymour, Springfield, Stockton, Strafford, Waynesville, Webb City, West Plains and Willard.
