24th Annual Turkey Trot & Food Drive

When:
Thursday, Nov. 22
8 a.m.
Where:
Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St.
Description:

Join us for the 24th annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning!

This fun tradition doubles as a food drive and has collected more than 138,000 pounds of food for The Food Bank since 2001. Last year’s race alone helped provide more than 6,500 meals! Do your part by donating five nonperishable food items before the 5K begins at 8 a.m. on Nov. 23.

This year, you can help support nonprofits like Ozarks Food Harvest, Developmental Center of the Ozarks and The Springfield-Greene County Park Board Scholarship Fund.

Here’s how to register or volunteer to help make this year’s Turkey Trot 5k and food drive a success:

1) Visit parkboard.org/turkeytrot to register online or download a form to mail in. Cost is $20/adult and or $15/kids 12 and under through 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.

2) On-site registration runs Wednesday, Nov. 21, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Expo Center and continues 6:15-7 a.m. on race day. On-site registration is $30 for adults and $25 for kids 12 and under. Don’t forget your five nonperishable food donations on race day!
