How to Help

Hunger Action Month

When:
Tuesday, Sep. 01 — Wednesday, Sep. 30
Where:
Across the nation
Description:

In southwest Missouri, far too many people struggle with hunger. Even more people are going hungry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This September, you can help raise awareness—and provide meals—by participating in Hunger Action Month.

All proceeds from this year’s events will benefit our Weekend Backpack Program, which provides meals for children who might not get enough to eat over the weekends. So, sign up to volunteer, check out a few events and help us Transform Hunger into Hope in the Ozarks!

Hunger Action Month was spearheaded by Feeding America in 2008. The organization, which heads up all 200 food banks across the United States, wanted to create a nationwide push to get people involved in the fight against hunger. Each year, Ozarks Food Harvest engages the community with events, food and fund drives, community partnerships and more to help raise awareness and increase donations. There are ways to get involved every day this September. We can’t wait for you to join us!
