Milk Drive: Pints to Gallons

If you didn’t have the chance to join us at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park for the Great American Milk Drive event last month, don’t worry, you can still help Ozarks Food Harvest raise funds to provide more milk to food insecure individuals in the Ozarks.

Milk is the most requested item by individuals that The Food Bank serves. However, there is not enough donated supply to meet the demand of the 260,000 individuals that Ozarks Food Harvest reaches annually. Feeding America, the National Dairy Council and MilkPep created a voucher program to help compensate the need. For every $5 donated to Ozarks Food Harvest with “milk” designated as the donation purpose, The Food Bank can forward the donation to Feeding America to receive a voucher for white dairy milk. The children, families and seniors that OFH serves can redeem up to a gallon of milk by submitting the voucher during their purchase at any retailer where milk is sold.
