Scouting for Food

Sunday, March 01 — Tuesday, March 31

Join Boy Scouts across the Ozarks for the 31st annual Scouting for Food.

Local Scouts are going door-to-door this month to collect nonperishable food for Ozarks Food Harvest. Grocery sacks will be dropped off in area neighborhoods throughout the month.

Donations will also be accepted at the following places throughout March:

BSA Ozark Trails Council, 1616 S. Eastgate Ave. Donations are accepted Monday-Friday 9 a.m to 6 p.m. or Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

Ozarks Food Harvest, 2810 N. Cedarbrook Ave. Donation drop-off is at the north east end of the building, directly off Packer Road. Donations are accepted Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donors can also drop off food at local Walmarts on Saturday, March 28 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Walmart SuperCenter (Campbell)
  • Walmart SuperCenter (Independence)
  • Walmart Neighborhood Market (Republic Rd.)
  • Walmart Neighborhood Market (Glenstone)

The most-needed donations include tuna and canned meats, peanut butter, beans, boxed or canned meals, rice and pasta, canned vegetables and fruit and cereal. Download or print the most-needed items list.

Last year’s drive provided nearly 17,000 meals.

Thank you for supporting Ozarks Food Harvest and local Boy Scouts!
