Harter House-Nixa Raises Record Amount of Donations

February 14, 2022 in Harvest Time Newsletter

Recently, Harter House in Nixa, MO raised more than $16,000 during their Check Out Hunger campaign with Ozarks Food Harvest.

The local grocery store is committed to serving the needs of the community and has been participating in Check Out Hunger since 2013, raising more than $86,000 total dollars, which has helped to provide 344,000 meals.

Check Out Hunger is an annual campaign with dozens of area grocery stores who ask customers to add a small tax-free donation to their purchase.

The Nixa Harter House employees are passionate about hunger-relief, and this past year rallied together to show tremendous support of The Food Bank’s mission. Harter House offered its team a pizza party for any single day they raised more than $500, which happened twice during this campaign! They also offer staff gift cards as incentives during the friendly competition.

“As a local business, we choose to support Ozarks Food Harvest because the donations stay local and the whole dollar is used,” said Cody Crosby, Office Manager at the Nixa Harter House. “It is very important to us and our customers that the funds we raise stay local and
benefit local families.”

$0.96 of every $1 donated to The Food Bank goes directly to programs that feed hungry people right here in southwest Missouri.

We are so grateful for local businesses, staff, and customers that go above and beyond to help children, families, and seniors in need. Each one of you are truly Transforming Hunger into Hope.
