Kraft to donate a truckload of Macaroni & Cheese to Ozarks Food Harvest

May 22, 2015

‘Be A Hunger Hero’ campaign encourages local hunger relief efforts

WHO:             Ozarks Food Harvest is receiving a donation of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese from the “Be A Hunger Hero” campaign, created through a partnership with Kraft Foods, Tyson Foods, Sam’s Club and Champions for Kids. This partnership aims to fight childhood hunger by providing meals to families in need.

WHAT:           Kraft Foods is donating one truckload of Macaroni & Cheese to The Food Bank. Ozarks Food Harvest, which serves more than 200 pantries and programs, will distribute the meals to hungry children in the Ozarks. One in four children in southwest Missouri are food insecure, which means they do not know where their next meal will come from.

WHEN:           Thursday, May 28 at 10 a.m.

WHERE:          The O’Reilly Center for Hunger Relief, 2810 N. Cedarbrook Ave., Springfield, Mo.

WHY:              This donation is part of the “Be A Hunger Hero” campaign, a promotion in Sam’s Club stores nationwide during August 2014 to raise awareness of childhood hunger and inspire local communities to participate. For every select product sold in Sam’s Club in August 2014, Kraft offered to make a donation to help feed a child in need. This donation is the second of four Kraft donation events in fulfillment of that promise.

VISUAL:         The Food Bank’s operations team will be unloading the pallets of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
