SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Ozarks Food Harvest’s participation in the 10th annual Feinstein Challenge March 1 through April 30, 2007, earned The Food Bank a $1,308 grant this month.

The Feinstein Foundation, based out of Rhode Island, challenges hunger relief charities nationwide to earn as much of its annual $1 million giveaway to fight hunger.  Agencies informed donors nationwide that the larger donation made during the two spring months, the more Feinstein money would be added to their donations. Founder Alan Shawn Feinstein divided the million dollars among all the participating hunger fighting agencies.

Results from the 2007 spring campaign to fight hunger throughout the country was $148 million from nearly 2,000 participating charities.

“This challenge is an important fundraising tool for Ozarks Food Harvest because the people in our community help us bring a share of these funds to the Ozarks,” Denise Gibson, OFH Director of Development and Communications, said.
