Did you know that volunteering just one hour of your time at Ozarks Food Harvest in Springfield, Missouri helps to provide 105 meals to individuals in need? Ozarks Food Harvest is the only food bank in southwest Missouri, serving more than 250 nonprofit members across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank reaches more than 20,000 individuals weekly and distributes one million pounds of food monthly —this would not be possible without generous volunteers like YOU!
Whether you can give a few hours monthly, or commit to a weekly schedule, your gift of time helps Transform Hunger into Hope for families in need. Please know all volunteer sessions must be scheduled in advance.
Individuals & groups are welcome! Youth volunteering at OFH facility must be at least 14 years old. Individual youth volunteers ages 14 and 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Youth groups require one adult for every 5 youth.
Processing donations during weekday Sort & Repack projects are key to Ozarks Food Harvest’s distribution of 10 million meals annually. Sort & Repack projects involve checking expiration dates, sorting like items, and repacking for distribution. Food safety training is provided at the beginning of the session. Volunteer projects may vary based upon The Food Bank’s current distribution needs.
Special Events & Other Opportunities
Volunteers are needed during several OFH special events in order to collect food and funding and to develop awareness about hunger in southwest Missouri. From answering phones at The Food Bank’s annual Hungerthon™ radiothon to accepting food donations at Turkey Trot, OFH Volunteers Make it Happen!
