Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving 270 nonprofit organizations across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank’s network of pantries and programs feed thousands of people each year, providing an annual distribution of 23 million meals.

The need for food assistance in SWMO continues to be too high

Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap is the only study available that provides county-level estimates of food insecurity in the United States. In the 28 counties Ozarks Food Harvest serves, the study shows that 17.3 percent of the population faces food insecurity, meaning they are unsure of where their next meal will come from. Unfortunately, 28.6 percent of these individuals have income levels that disqualify them from receiving government assistance.
