Ozarks Food Harvest’s Legacy of Hope Planned Giving Program allows you to ensure that tomorrow’s children, families and seniors won’t go hungry. These gifts provide long term support of The Food Bank’s critical programs. They are typically bequests, but donors may also name Ozarks Food Harvest as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement fund, establish a variety of charitable trusts or make an outright gift. HOW TO MAKE A BEQUEST

Remembering Ozarks Food Harvest in your will or trust is one of the most meaningful ways to leave a Legacy of Hope. This is one of the easiest — and most impactful — ways to make a difference with a planned gift. With the help of a financial advisor, you can include specific language in your will or trust that a gift be made to The Food Bank as part of your estate plan.

There are a number of ways you can make a bequest to Ozarks Food Harvest including:

  • Specific Bequest: Determine an outright dollar amount or asset to gift to Ozarks Food Harvest.
  • Percentage Bequest: Determine a percentage of your estate to gift to Ozarks Food Harvest.
  • Residual Bequest: After your loved ones have been provided for, gift all or some of the residuary estate to Ozarks Food Harvest.
  • Contingent Bequest: The gift of your estate is only made in the event of the death of any beneficiaries.

GIFTS OF RETIREMENT ASSETS

You can designate Ozarks Food Harvest as the beneficiary of part or all of the remainder of your retirement assets with gifts from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan. Most people will not use all of their retirement assets within their lifetime making this type of gift an excellent way to support Ozarks Food Harvest.

Up to 70 percent of your retirement assets may be subject to estate and deferred income tax at your death. As a charity, Ozarks Food Harvest can become a tax-free beneficiary of these assets.

GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE

If you have excess life insurance, consider designating Ozarks Food Harvest as the beneficiary to secure tax benefits. Whether through your employer or separate policy you hold, there are a number of ways to designate this gift. In order to deduct premium payments as charitable deductions, you must name The Food Bank as both the policy owner and beneficiary.
