Ozarks Food Harvest earns 10th consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator

For the 10th year in a row, Ozarks Food Harvest has earned the highest rating of 4 out of 4 possible stars from Charity Navigator, the largest and most-trusted evaluator of charities in the United States.

I’m so happy to share this rating because it gives you, our valued donors, the confidence that you’re contributing to one of the most effective hunger-relief nonprofits in the nation.

Charity Navigator’s star rating is based primarily on a charity’s financial health, accountability and transparency. They evaluate more than 200,000 charities and recently expanded its rating system to include measures of impact, community benefits, strategic planning and sustainability.

The president/CEO of Charity Navigator, Michael Thatcher, described in his award letter what a 4-star rating means for The Food Bank.

“Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Ozarks Food Harvest exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Ozarks Food Harvest apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”

Ozarks Food Harvest’s consistent record of 4-star ratings reflects years of strategic planning, hard work and focus to ensure we are good stewards of each donation. For every dollar donated, 96 cents goes directly towards food distribution for individuals facing hunger in southwest Missouri. Our standard is what allowed us to distribute a record-breaking 23 million meals to our more than 270 hunger-relief organizations in the past year.

I’m grateful to each person who trusts us with their gift this holiday season to feed the children, families, and seniors across our 28-county service area. Thank you for helping us Transform Hunger into Hope across the Ozarks.
