Donations to The Food Bank tend to dip in the summer months. With school out of session, family vacations and other summer activities, donating isn’t always top of mind. But for food insecure families, summer can be the hungriest time of the year. That’s where Arvest Bank’s Million Meals campaign comes in.

October is National Pasta Month! The Food Bank is celebrating by collecting pasta items in a month-long food drive. Donors will have the chance to win a swag bag.

On Saturday, May 12, people in the Ozarks came together to help Stamp out Hunger. To participate, residents placed bags of nonperishable food items near their mailboxes. Throughout the day, letter carriers picked up the bags, organized products and delivered food to Ozarks Food Harvest’s food pantries.

When the excitement from the holidays starts to fade, families still continue to struggle with hunger in our community. Unfortunately during this time, food and fund drives start to die down.
This year, Walmart’s nationwide Fight Hunger. Spark Change. initiative provided 218 million meals to Feeding America food banks across the country. Ozarks Food Harvest was awarded $125,000 to fight hunger right here in the Ozarks.

Twenty Springfield Public Schools and thirteen community partners battled to win the sixth annual Food Fight food and fund drive benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest.Over 32,000 pounds of food and fund donations were collected.

Boy Scouts across the Ozarks went door-to-door this spring to gather nonperishable food for Ozarks Food Harvest during the 27th annual Scouting for Food.
Together they collected a record 29,745 pounds of food and $442.43 to provide nearly 27,000 meals.

For the sixth year, Arvest Bank held its annual 1 Million Meals campaign to raise food and funds for local people who struggle with hunger. This year’s campaign at the Springfield and Nixa branches collected $3,125 and 1,662 pounds of food for Ozarks Food Harvest. The bank branch in Monett donated $447 to support its town’s Weekend Backpack Program.

Two months ago, Arvest Bank launched its annual 1 Million Meals initiative to fight hunger in the four-state region the bank serves. The bank announced today that, with the help of customers and community members, it has exceeded the campaign goal by raising a total of 1,712,601 meals in the fight against hunger.
