Consider a year-end gift for neighbors facing hunger

December 3, 2025 in From Cassie's Desk Harvest Time Newsletter

This holiday season, many families in southwest Missouri are facing hunger. Some families will have to choose between putting food on the table and heating their homes. Your generous year-end gift to Ozarks Food Harvest can change that.

Throughout the holidays, The Food Bank works hard to ensure our neighbors have holiday meals on the table, but meeting the increased need means increased food and transportation costs. By making a year-end gift, you will help The Food Bank continue to support our neighbors beyond the busy holiday season.

Year-end donations are not only a great way to give – they may also allow you to benefit from tax deductions. Ozarks Food Harvest is the recipient of Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits from the State of Missouri. If you have Missouri business income and make a donation to The Food Bank, you may qualify to receive a tax credit worth 50% of your donation.

Another way to give is to make a tax-free gift from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA), also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), that may save you more in taxes than traditional donations.

Finally, consider including Ozarks Food Harvest in your estate planning so your gift can provide hope for generations to come.

Ozarks Food Harvest’s mission of Transforming Hunger into Hope isn’t possible without generous supporters like you. Your gift ensures that our network of faith-based and community charities is well-equipped to serve our neighbors facing hunger across the Ozarks.
