Hunger Heroes exceed #GivingTuesday goal

Hunger Heroes exceed #GivingTuesday goal

November 29, 2018 in Food Bank News

This #Giving Tuesday, Ozarks Food Harvest asked the community to give back to families facing hunger in southwest Missouri.

The Food Bank set a goal of $10,000, and Hunger Heroes exceeded that by raising $12,420, which will help provide 49,680 meals to food insecure individuals across 28 counties in the Ozarks.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration to encourage support of nonprofit organizations. Following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday took place on Nov. 27.

Donors supported Ozarks Food Harvest by submitting gifts through the website, Facebook fundraiser and Dip Jars in the volunteer center. Mercy generously matched donations up to $2,500.

Ozarks Food Harvest is incredibly grateful for this support! Because of you, someone will eat today.
