For more than 30 years, Texas County Food Pantry has been a lifeline for neighbors facing hunger in Missouri’s largest county. That’s why Ozarks Food Harvest is proud to celebrate our 36-year-long partnership with a great pantry this December.

The rural nature of Texas County, as well as limited access to transportation, make it difficult for neighbors to access food – especially during times of increased need. In these moments, the pantry steps up to make sure their neighbors have what they need.

Texas County Food Pantry offers multiple food assistance options for people in the community, including one-time emergency aid, monthly food distributions and the Senior Box program. These services allow the pantry to meet different neighbors’ needs in the community.

Much of the food the pantry distributes is made possible by their partnership with Ozarks Food Harvest. In the last year alone, they received more than 333,000 pounds of food, worth about $528,600, from The Food Bank. Since 2008, Texas County Food Pantry has received more than 5.5 million meals from Ozarks Food Harvest.

Through support from a variety of organizations, individuals and their connected thrift store, the pantry also helps folks afford things like emergency rent and utilities.

Laura Crowley, executive director of Texas County Food Pantry, shared, “You guys [Ozarks Food Harvest] are why we are able to give the people the food that they get here every month.”

Whether it’s connecting neighbors to food, assisting a senior in need for the first time, or helping folks facing illness get the food they need, Texas County Food Pantry is there to support their neighbors.
