Ozarks Food Harvest receives 14th consecutive 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

I’m proud to share that for the 14th year in a row, Ozarks Food Harvest has received a Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator, recognizing The Food Bank as one of the most effective hunger-relief charities in the nation. The rating encompasses four categories, including Accountability & Finance, Culture & Community, Impact & Results and Leadership & Adaptability. This is particularly meaningful because Charity Navigator is America’s largest and most utilized independent charity evaluator.

“We are delighted to provide Ozarks Food Harvest with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The Four-Star Rating is the highest possible rating an organization can achieve. We are eager to see the good work that Ozarks Food Harvest is able to accomplish in the years ahead.”

Charity Navigator’s Four-Star Rating means that The Food Bank uses every donation responsibly to help end hunger right here in our communities. When you donate to Ozarks Food Harvest, 96 cents of every dollar goes directly towards food distribution and hunger-relief programs. With 1 in 5 children and 1 in 6 adults facing hunger, Ozarks Food Harvest remains committed to being a good steward of every dollar you give so we can Transform Hunger into Hope in southwest Missouri.

That commitment is also why we support our network of 270 partner charities’ efforts through food deliveries and grants. In the past year, we’ve purchased more than $2 million worth of food and awarded $500,000 in grant funds to help our partners meet the increased demand for food.

This is important to us because we want to ensure your gifts stretch as far as possible to help our neighbors put food on the table. Your donations help Ozarks Food Harvest reach more than 90,000 individuals monthly and provide more than 23 million meals annually across our 28-county service area.

Your donations also support programs like our Mobile Food Pantry, Senior Produce Pantries and the Weekend Backpack Program. Additionally, we provide holiday meals every year so our neighbors
can come together to enjoy the season with their loved ones.

I extend my gratitude to each of you who trusts us with your gifts. Together, we’re able to be a reliable source of food and hope for children, families and seniors across southwest Missouri. Thank you for being part of our mission.
