Boy Scouts are Scouting for Food

March 5, 2020 in Food drive

Boy Scouts across the Ozarks need your help to collect food for families struggling with hunger.

Throughout March, Scouts are going door-to-door to collect nonperishable food for Ozarks Food Harvest during Scouting for Food. Grocery bags will be dropped off in area neighborhoods within the first few weeks of the month.

Donations will also be accepted at the following places throughout March:

  • BSA Ozark Trails Council, 1616 S. Eastgate Ave. Donations are accepted Monday-Friday 9 a.m to 6 p.m. or Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
  • Ozarks Food Harvest, 2810 N. Cedarbrook Ave. Donation drop-off is at the north east end of the building, directly off Packer Road. Donations are accepted Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The most-needed donations include tuna and canned meats, peanut butter, beans, boxed or canned meals, rice and pasta, canned vegetables and fruit and cereal.

Donors can also drop off food at local Walmarts on Saturday, March 28 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at several locations. Check back soon for more details.

Last year’s drive provided nearly 17,000 meals. Help the Scouts raise even more this year by making a donation.

Thank you for supporting Ozarks Food Harvest and local Boy Scouts!
