Support OFH during your workout
If you’re planning on making fitness a goal in 2015, consider walking, running or biking to support Ozarks Food Harvest through Charity Miles.
Charity Miles is an app available to iPhone and Android users that allows people to earn money for charity through exercise.
The app is free and easy to use. Download and launch the app, choose a charity and either walk, run or bike with your smartphone as it tracks your miles. The selected charity then earns money for any distance covered.
Walkers and runners earn 25 cents per mile and bikers earn 10 cents per mile for the charity of their choice.
There are more than 30 charities to choose from, but selecting Feeding America will benefit food banks, like OFH.
Sixty-five percent of proceeds from miles logged will be distributed according to the zip code breakdown of where funds were earned, so when you exercise in the Ozarks, your money will stay right here.
Feeding America is the second most popular organization on Charity Miles, and since the app launched in 2012, walkers, runners and cyclists have raised $100,000 to help fight hunger.
