The power of planned giving

The power of planned giving

February 3, 2021 in From Denise's Desk Harvest Time Newsletter

The gift of a long-term commitment to Ozarks Food Harvest is an excellent way to express your support for hunger-relief efforts in the Ozarks. There are so many ways to make a planned gift, and doing so will help leave your legacy and ensure the mission of The Food Bank is secure.

Gifts made through our planned giving program, Legacy of Hope, are typically bequests, but donors may contribute in other ways.

Remembering Ozarks Food Harvest in your will or trust is such a meaningful way to make a difference. With the help of a financial advisor, you can include specific language in your will or trust that a gift be made to The Food Bank as part of your estate plan.

You can also designate Ozarks Food Harvest as the beneficiary of part or all of the remainder of your retirement assets. Many people may not use all of their retirement assets within their lifetime, and making this type of gift is an excellent way to show your support. Or, if you have excess life insurance, consider designating Ozarks Food Harvest as the beneficiary to secure tax benefits.

A variety of other options are also available. Please speak with your financial advisor about which plan works best for you. No matter how you choose to leave your legacy, please know that your gifts will be crucial to meeting The Food Bank’s mission of Transforming Hunger into Hope.

Thank you for considering a legacy gift to Ozarks Food Harvest—one that will keep working to help one child, family or senior at a time.
