Volunteer Appreciation Week

Volunteer Appreciation Week

April 26, 2018 in Get Involved

Each April, nonprofits across the country take the time to recognize the amazing work of their volunteers for National Volunteer Month.

Every year, more than 4,600 volunteers help sort food, pack Senior Food boxes and Weekend Backpack bags, assist with events, distribute food at Crimson House and mobile pantries, and take care of our community gardens.

This year, Ozarks Food Harvest took one week during National Volunteer Month to thank volunteers for everything they do. Our regular volunteers were honored with a special breakfast, and throughout the week, all volunteers could enjoy coffee and delicious treats provided by Panera Bread during breaks in their shifts.

We sincerely thank each and every one of our volunteers for their time in aiding the fight against hunger.

Every hour of volunteer time provides more than 100 meals – you can make a big difference with a small gift of time. Groups and individuals are welcome! Learn more about volunteering with The Food Bank here.
