Hunger Action Month is one of the best months of the year here at Ozarks Food Harvest.
The month is all about taking an action to help our neighbors in need, whether that is collecting food or funds, volunteering or advocating for our mission.
We share with you all year about the one in five kids and one in seven adults who struggle with hunger. September affords so many opportunities to help those folks and is a great way for first time donors to get involved in our mission.
Artists and community members came together this September for the most successful Empty Bowls yet. The third annual fundraiser held at Panera Bread raised $7,440, selling all 220 handcrafted bowls donated by nearly 60 local artists.
Ozarks Food Harvest is partnering with Panera Bread for Empty Bowls 2015. The annual event, set for Sept. 25, raises awareness of hunger in southwest Missouri.
For a donation to OFH, event-goers receive soup, a baguette and art to take home. The creations, ranging from pottery to carved wood, are meant to serve as a reminder of the thousands of “empty bowls” found on dinner tables across the Ozarks each night.
