Area restaurants will help provide meals through Dine Out for Hunger in January

January 21, 2021

Week-long campaign will raise funds for Ozarks Food Harvest and local restaurants affected by COVID-19

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — More than 10 area restaurants are teaming up to help feed families facing hunger in the Ozarks and bring attention to local dining. From Jan. 25-31, participating restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to Ozarks Food Harvest, while SGC Foodservice provides a dollar-for-dollar match for each donation.

“We want to help families and restaurants stay afloat as we progress through the pandemic,” said Denise Gibson, director of development and communication at Ozarks Food Harvest. “Dine Out for Hunger will help support local restaurants affected by COVID-19 and ensure families can put food on the table in the coming months.”

SGC Foodservice is also purchasing two gift cards from every participating restaurant to raffle as a bundle to two lucky winners. Individuals can enter the raffle through a QR code featured on a table tent or carryout bag when they purchase items from restaurants taking part in Dine Out for Hunger.

Participating restaurants include Archie’s Italian Eatery, BlackBird Bar & Grill, Big Easy Grill, Farmhouse Restaurant, Great American Taco Company, Hard Knox BBQ, Maso Pizza Bar, Metropolitan Grill, Neighbor’s Mill Bakery & Café, Nicola’s Ristorante, Primas Mexican Kitchen, Retro Metro and The Pitch Pizza & Pub.

This is Ozarks Food Harvest’s second annual partnership with SGC Foodservice for Dine Out for Hunger. Last year, Dine Out For Hunger raised nearly $45,000 for families facing hunger in the Ozarks. For more information and a full list of participating restaurants, visit dineoutforhunger.com.
