Artists and community members came together last Friday for the most successful Empty Bowls yet. The third annual fundraiser held at Panera Bread on South Campbell raised $7,440, selling all 220 handcrafted bowls donated by nearly 60 local artists.
Ozarks Food Harvest and Panera Bread are partnering for the third annual Empty Bowls to raise awareness and funds for the one in six adults and one in four kids who struggle with hunger right here in the Ozarks.
McDonald’s restaurants across the Ozarks are collecting cans for coffee Aug. 29- Sept. 25. Customers who donate one canned item for Ozarks Food Harvest will receive one free McCafe beverage.
Ozarks Food Harvest and iHeartMedia’s 105.9 KGBX will kick off the 18th annual Hungerthon radio-thon tomorrow morning with a goal of raising $125,000 for the Weekend Backpack Program. This initiative gives over 1,600 local children six nutritious meals to take home on the weekends, when hunger is more prevalent.
During Hunger Action Month, Ozarks Food Harvest will encourage those in the Ozarks to take a stand against hunger. Events will be held throughout September to raise awareness and give opportunity for the community to take part in the local effort to solve hunger.
