SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Lucas Oil Speedway and KOLR 10 are offering free admission to the races in Wheatland Mo., on Saturday, July 30 when event-goers donate four nonperishable food items to Ozarks Food Harvest at the gate.

Donations for admission will be collected the night of the race near an Ozarks Food Harvest truck at the main gate. Donors will receive one free ticket for every four nonperishable food items given. Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 7 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m. Food donations will also support Ozarks Food Harvest’s member food pantry in Wheatland, Hickory County C.A.R.E.S.

“We look forward every year to joining with Lucas Oil Speedway and KOLR 10 for this fun night of entertainment,” said Denise Gibson, director of development and communication for Ozarks Food Harvest. “Last year’s drive was the most successful yet, collecting 8,144 pounds of food. These donations directly benefit people in our community who struggle with hunger.”

Through this partnership that began in 2008, Lucas Oil helped collect more than 36,500 pounds of food for Ozarks Food Harvest, providing over 30,400 meals to those in need. Lucas Oil Speedway and KOLR 10 hope to collect 10,000 pounds of food for The Food Bank at the races on Saturday to help feed hungry children, families and seniors in southwest Missouri.

The speedway is located at 700 E. Highway 54 in Wheatland, and directions can be found at lucasoilspeedway.com. Regular admission is $12 for adults ages 16 and up, $9 for military and seniors ages 62 and up and $5 for youth ages 6 to 15. A list of most needed items can be found on The Food Bank’s website at ozarksfoodharvest.org/foodrive.
