McDonald’s of the Ozarks is giving away free coffee for donations to Ozarks Food Harvest

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— McDonald’s locations across the Ozarks will host the fourth annual Cans for Coffee food drive Oct. 31 through Nov. 20, offering customers one free small McCafé® Mocha, Latte, Cappuccino, Hot Chocolate, Premium Roast Coffee or Iced Coffee in exchange for a donation of a non-perishable food item for Ozarks Food Harvest.

Patrons are to bring nonperishable food donations to the front counter or drive-thru window of any local McDonald’s restaurant to receive one free small McCafé® coffee or hot chocolate of their choice.

More than 60 local McDonald’s restaurants are participating in this year’s event, and all food donations will be distributed to Ozarks Food Harvest’s network of 300 hunger relief organizations in southwest Missouri.

“We’re grateful for this partnership with McDonald’s of the Ozarks and hope more community members will open their hearts for our hungry neighbors during this special time of year,” said Denise Gibson, development director at Ozarks Food Harvest. “With the rising demand for food assistance in southwest Missouri, we rely on Cans for Coffee each year. This gives our hurting neighbors something to truly be thankful for.”

Since 2008, Cans for Coffee has collected more than 50,000 pounds of food for Ozarks Food Harvest, the regional Feeding America food bank serving 300 nonprofits across 28 Missouri counties.
