1984 Arcade raising funds for Ozarks Food Harvest

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— 1984 Arcade will sponsor a holiday event to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest on Wednesday, December 5 from 4 to 11 p.m. at 1984’s location on South Jefferson in downtown Springfield. Admission is $5 and includes unlimited video game play and refreshments. One hundred percent of all proceeds will be donated to the food bank.

According to Ozarks Food Harvest, 150,000 people live in poverty in the Ozarks, and 50,000 are children. The food bank distributes nearly five million pounds of food annually to its network of 323 hunger relief agencies across 29 Ozarks counties.

Ozarks Food Harvest also offers direct relief through its Kids Cafe, Food for Thought, Club F.U.N. and Mobile Food Pantry programs.

1984 opened in July 2005 and offers more than 50 classic video games and pinball machines for a $5 entry fee for unlimited video game play and pinball for a quarter per play. Hours are 4 to 11 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.
