Area Edward Jones offices collecting food for the hungry

November 26, 2007

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Edward Jones Investment offices in Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Rogersville and Republic are conducting a food drive November 28 – December 19 to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest during the holidays. More than 20 locations will serve as drop off sites for food donations.

Donors are asked to bring food items to the locations during business hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Ozarks Food Harvest requests donations rich in protein such as canned meats, including chicken, tuna, chilli, canned pasta meals, beef stew, or hearty soups. Other most needed food items for the food bank include boxed cereal and oatmeal, canned fruits and fruit cocktail, peanut butter, canned beans, canned vegetables, boxed dinners, macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, and dry beans.

Ozarks Food Harvest serves 323 hunger relief agencies in 29 southwest Missouri counties – reaching 37,000 individuals every month.
