Area restaurants will help provide meals through Dine Out for Hunger in January

January 16, 2020

Week-long campaign will raise funds and awareness for hunger in the Ozarks

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— More than 20 local restaurants are teaming up to help feed families struggling with hunger in the Ozarks. From Jan. 19-25, participating restaurants will offer menu specials with a portion of proceeds benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest. For every special menu item purchased, SGC Foodservice will be providing a financial match.

“Donations to Ozarks Food Harvest tend to slow down after the holidays,” said Denise Gibson, director of development and communication at Ozarks Food Harvest. “This will help support local restaurants while providing meals for food- insecure families, who often struggle even more during the winter months.”

Fifty cents of each featured meal or drink item will benefit Ozarks Food Harvest’s programs, which serve nearly 30,000 people each week. SGC Foodservice will match 50 cents for every dollar donated by each restaurant.

Participating restaurants include Archie’s Italian Eatery, Arris’ Pizza, Bair’s Sports Grill, BlackBird Bar & Grill, Coyote’s Adobe Cafe, Danna’s BBQ, Farmhouse Restaurant, Flat Creek, Hard Knox BBQ, Hog Tide Bar-B-Que, Maso Pizza Bar, Mel’s Hard Luck Diner, Metropolitan Grill, Mexican Villa, Neighbor’s Mill Bakery & Café, Nicola’s Ristorante, ReRico Brazilian Grill, Rocking Chair Restaurant, Springfield Brewing Co., The Hill Italian Restaurant, The Pitch Pizza & Pub, The Rock, Vineyard Market, W.F. Cody’s and Whole Hog BBQ Cafe.

This is the inaugural campaign for Dine Out for Hunger. A full list of participating restaurants and their specials is available at dineoutforhunger.com.
