SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Arvest Bank announced last week that its first-ever initiative to fight hunger in the 90 communities it serves exceeded its goal of providing one million meals. Locally, Arvest raised enough food and funds to provide more than 40,000 meals to those in need.

President of Arvest Bank–Springfield, Rodney Shepard, presented $7,446.43 to Ozarks Food Harvest at The Food Bank in North Springfield today. An additional $1,647.88 was collected for one of The Food Bank’s member agencies in Branson, Christian Action Ministries.

The Springfield and Joplin Arvest branches collected 5,568 pounds of food items for Ozarks Food Harvest pantries and feeding sites in Springfield and Joplin.

Arvest Bank branches in the community collected donations from its customers, local residents and Arvest employees through in-branch fundraisers and food drives throughout April and May.
