Motorcycle ride fundraises for childhood hunger

March 30, 2007

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The local affiliate of Missouri’s largest motorcycle rights organization, Freedom of Road Riders, raised $2,265 at its 80 mile benefit motorcycle ride on March 25 to support Ozarks Food Harvest’s Food for Thought childhood hunger assistance program.

Food for Thought provides backpacks filled with nutritional non-perishable, easy-open food items for hungry children to take home for the weekend in a backpack which looks like any other student’s backpack.

Nineteen elementary schools in Ozarks Food Harvest’s 29 county service area currently participate in Food for Thought, and 14 schools remain on a waiting list.

Freedom of Road Riders, Inc., (FORR®) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting safety, brotherhood, and freedom for all motorcyclists.
