Bistro Market unveils Bistro Catering at benefit event for OFH

October 1, 2010

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Ozarks Food Harvest will receive a portion of ticket sales from upcoming premiere event — Plate Escapes — the launch party of Bistro Market by Price Cutter’s catering service, Bistro Catering. Plate Escapes begins at 7 p.m. next Friday, October 8, at the Outdoor Pavilion of Bistro Market in downtown Springfield.

“We are so pleased to partner with long-term supporter, Price Cutter, and are excited for their new business at the Bistro Market,” said Bart Brown, president and CEO of Ozarks Food Harvest. “This benefit really comes at an ideal time as more and more families are requesting help in our communities across the Ozarks.”

The event takes on a culinary world tour theme as guests are introduced to Bistro Catering, established by local chef James Clary and Pyramid Foods CEO Erick Taylor. According to Chef Clary, those attending the unveiling event will receive boarding passes for a culinary tour of several vignettes, featuring food and beverages representative of destinations including Tuscany for chianti and antipasto, Japan for sushi and gyoza, the south of France for a French country wedding and to the Caribbean for island-inspired foods and a large selection of seafood on ice.

“We’re thrilled to bring to Springfield a new, broad catering option, and what better organization to support than Ozarks Food Harvest,” said James Clary, Culinary Director of Pyramid Foods.

Early entertainment will include jazz professionals Kristi Meredith and Joe Tonyan. Local band Member’s Only will begin at 9 p.m.

The event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $75.00, reservations are not required.  A portion of ticket sales will benefit The Food Bank to help meet the increasing requests for food assistance.   Members Only, local 80’s rock cover bank, will play at 9:00 pm.  Admission to hear the band only is $10.00.
