Cowboy Classic Pro Rodeo collects food donations

Ticket discount & coupon offered for nonperishable items

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Springfield’s annual Cowboy Classic Pro Rodeo is partnering with The Food Bank to collect food donations on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26. Attendees are asked to bring donations of food to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest and in exchange will receive $2 off their ticket plus a free Fazoli’s coupon.

General admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children, or with a nonperishable food donation, $10 for adults and $4 for children. Attendees who donate food will also receive the Fazoli’s coupon good for one spaghetti dinner, while supplies last.

This is the sixth straight year the Cowboy Classic Pro Rodeo has benefitted The Food Bank. Last year, nearly 1,000 pounds was collected for Ozarks Food Harvest.

Donations may include canned meat, peanut butter, canned fruit, canned vegetables, boxed meals, as well as personal hygiene items. All donations should be in undamaged and unexpired packages.

The 16th annual rodeo begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 25 and at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds Indoor Coliseum. Contestants will compete in bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding and more.
