Cowboy Classic Pro Rodeo helping Ozarks Food Harvest again

Ticket discount offered for nonperishable food donations

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The annual Cowboy Classic Pro Rodeo will partner with Ozarks Food Harvest to collect food donations Friday, Mar. 23 and Saturday, Mar. 24. Attendees are asked to bring canned food donations for The Food Bank in exchange for a $1 discount on admission.

This is the seventh straight year the Cowboy Classic Pro Rodeo has supported OFH. Over the past two years, more than 1,000 pounds of food has been collected for Ozarkers in need.

Donations may include canned meat, peanut butter, canned fruit, canned vegetables and boxed meals, such as macaroni and cheese or potato dinners. All donations should be in undamaged and unexpired packages. No glass containers are accepted.

The 18th annual rodeo begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Mar. 23 and at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 24 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds Indoor Coliseum. Contestants will compete in bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding and more.

General admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children, or with a nonperishable food donation, $11 for adults and $5 for children. Advanced tickets are available at PFI and Price Cutter.
