Dillons Delivers Hope, Donates $7,500

December 23, 2008

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Dillons Stores’ annual hunger relief campaign, Bringing Hope to the Table, has donated $7,500 to Ozarks Food Harvest, the only food bank serving 29 counties in southwest Missouri.

Dillons’ Bringing Hope to the Table was created to bring together food manufacturers, popular brands, and consumers in a united effort to fight hunger in communities across America.  The two week, cause-marketing campaign included products made by Kellogg’s, Keebler, Kraft, Nabisco, Proctor & Gamble, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Nestle USA, and brands represented by Acosta Sales and Marketing.  Several of Kroger’s corporate brands such as Private Selection were featured in the campaign as well.

Since 2006, Bringing Hope to the Table has donated $18,750 to Ozarks Food Harvest, enabling The Food Bank to provide more than 93,000 meals.  Nationwide, Bringing Hope to the Table has generated more than $9 million in cash donations and $3 million in product for food banks across the country.

“Dillons’ hunger relief campaign has been an excellent opportunity for people in our community to give back when they purchase certain brands ,” Denise Gibson, OFH Development Director, said.  “In a way, they’re really helping those in need while they feed their own families.”
