OFH’s Mobile Food Pantry making a stop in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry will make a stop in downtown Springfield Thursday morning to help some of the cities neediest families.

The parking lot of Holland Elementary will play host to the distribution point, where more than 400 people are expected to show up and take home donations.

Packed on the Mobile Food Pantry is a range of necessities, starting with food items like potatoes and fresh corn and everyday use items, such as laundry detergent, shampoo and baby wipes.

Helping to sponsor this Mobile Food Pantry stop is Center City Christian Outreach, a local food pantry located in downtown Springfield.  This pantry serves an area between Kansas Expressway and National Avenue to the east and west and Chestnut Expressway and Grand Street to the north and south.

Also helping during this stop will be volunteers from CCF Brands from Rogers, Arkansas.  CCF Brands is also donating bagels that will be given out during the stop.

This Mobile Food Pantry stop comes on the heels of last week’s canceled stop which was scheduled to take place in Wheaton, Missouri located in Hickory County.  This stop was cancelled because insignificant food and supplies in the Ozark Food Harvest warehouse.

Holland Elementary is located at 2403 S. Holland Avenue.  The Mobile Food Pantry will be open from 11 am until about 2 pm, or as long as the supplies last.
