Joe Nakato Memorial Golf Tournament to be held at Millwood Golf Course, October 19th

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Nakato Japanese Steakhouse is hosting the 1st Joe Nakato Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest’s Kids Cafe® program Monday, October 19 at Millwood Golf Course.

The four person scramble will be held in honor of the late Joe Nakato of Springfield, Mo., owner of Nakato Japanese Steakhouse.  As avid supporters of The Food Bank’s Kids Cafe® after-school feeding program, The Nakato Family is donating all proceeds from the tournament to Ozarks Food Harvest.

“The Nakato Family strongly advocates for our Kids Cafe® feeding program,” says Bart Brown, Ozarks Food Harvest President/CEO,  “their generous gifts of time, talent, and food have ensured that children in need receive warm, healthy meals when they would otherwise go home to empty plates.  We are honored to be the recipients of this memorable occasion.”

Registration for the tournament will begin at 7:00 a.m. with the shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.  Registration fees are $100 per player, including player gift bag and lunch provided by Millwood.  In addition to the tournament, players can enter to win several raffle items with all proceeds benefitting The Food Bank.
