WHEN:  Saturday, June 10 at 6:10 p.m. and Sunday, June 11 at 2:10 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— American Family Insurance is sponsoring a fundraising event for Ozarks Food Harvest at the Springfield Cardinals home games Saturday and Sunday June 10 and 11. American Family Insurance will pass out over 10,000 items such as koozies and Cardinals hats to fans that bring non-perishable food or monetary donations to the game to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest. This event wraps up National Hunger Awareness Week in the Ozarks.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to have fun while helping the 150,000 people in the Ozarks who need our help,” said Denise Gibson, Director of Development and Communications. “We are very grateful to American Family Insurance and the Springfield Cardinals for helping us with this event.”

American Family offices across the Ozarks are competing to see who can gather the most food donations; the winner will throw the opening pitch at the 6:10 p.m. game on Friday. Kraft Foods and Dillons and Associated Wholesale Grocers have each donated a pallet of food to kick off the drive. Look for Ozarks Food Harvest’s volunteers and collection barrels outside the stadium gates to drop off your donation and help “Strike Out Hunger” in the Ozarks.
