Leicht and Smith join Ozarks Food Harvest board of directors

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Ozarks Food Harvest recently welcomed Linda Leicht and Tommy Smith to its now 16-member volunteer board of directors.

Linda Leicht, of the Springfield News-Leader, has served as a reporter for the paper since 1998, and is currently the opinion page editor. She covered religion and nonprofits for 10 years. Leicht has served as a volunteer for organizations such as American Red Cross, Bill’s Place and Crosslines.

Tommy Smith is vice president of merchandising and marketing at Associated Wholesale Grocers, and has been employed by AWG since 1997. Smith has more than 25 years of experience in the retail and wholesale grocery industry.

“I’m pleased to welcome these two community leaders to our team,” said OFH Board President Todd Sherman. “They not only bring a wealth of experience to the table, but they have a distinct passion for hunger relief here in the Ozarks.”

Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving 250 nonprofit agencies across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank distributes 10 million meals annually to 170,000 unduplicated individuals. OFH celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2013.
