SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Panera Bread will donate $1–$2 per five select menu items purchased on Friday, Mar. 30 as part of its initiative to support Ozarks Food Harvest’s Weekend Backpack Program. Cafes in Springfield, Branson and Joplin will participate in donating the proceeds.
Panera Bread will make a donation when the following items are ordered on Mar. 30:

  • Whole Cuban Chicken Panini ($2)
  • Cuban Chicken Panini in a You Pick Two® ($1)
  •  Whole Roast Turkey Fuji Apple Salad ($2)
  • Roast Turkey Fuji Apple Salad in a You Pick Two® ($1)
  • Cinnamon Roll ($1)

The funding will go to The Food Bank’s Backpack Program which provides nearly 1,000 at‐risk children a backpack full of nutritious child‐friendly foods for them to take home on the weekends, when they might otherwise go hungry.

Local Panera Bread cafes launched the partnership in February and donated nearly $300 to Ozarks Food Harvest’s Weekend Backpack Programs in Springfield, Branson and Joplin after its first one‐day promotion.
