OFH hires Gordon Day, former Willow Brook VP

June 28, 2012

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Ozarks Food Harvest recently created a new position to help secure and maintain donations of food, hiring Gordon Day, a former vice president at Willow Brook Foods.

The Food Bank’s new food resource manager will identify new sources of food donations and help retain and maximize current donations. Within his first month at Ozarks Food Harvest, Day secured more than 10,000 pounds of deli meat and has helped OFH gain several new committed major food donors.

“As manufacturers and retailers are becoming more efficient in today’s economy, donations of food have declined, creating the need for a food resource manager at Ozarks Food Harvest,” said Denise Gibson, development director at The Food Bank.

Day worked nearly 20 years at Willow Brook Foods and was responsible for accounts including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, Target, Safeway and more. After Cargill’s acquisition of Willow Brook, Day worked as a marketing consultant to numerous protein suppliers.
