SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Ozarks Food Harvest and Charlie and Mary Beth O’Reilly and family will hold a press conference in the warehouse of Ozarks Food Harvest Tuesday morning (April 24) at 10 a.m. to announce a major milestone in the food bank’s 23 year history.

The food bank announced in December its plans for a capital campaign to build a new $4.1 million regional food distribution center in North Springfield.

“My family and I believe that it is absolutely essential to our community that we support this campaign,” honorary campaign chair Charlie O’Reilly said.

According to Ozarks Food Harvest’s executive director Bart Brown, the food bank has seen a 44 percent increase in the requests for food assistance in the last four years, and distributed more than four million pounds of food to its more than 300 hunger relief agencies last year.
