SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— After one week of distributing food and supplies to organizations in Joplin, Ozarks Food Harvest will send its Mobile Food Pantry™ to serve victims in Joplin directly for the first time since the tornado devastated the community.

The Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry will serve individuals directly from the truck tomorrow, at one of Ozarks Food Harvest’s existing member pantries, Wildwood Baptist Church at 4827 E. 20th St. in Joplin.

Ozarks Food Harvest says this is only the first of many Mobile Food Pantry distributions that will serve those in need in Joplin over the weeks and months ahead. The “pantry on wheels” will continuously be moved around the community for time to come.

The truck is loaded with nonperishable food items, such as cereal and easy-to-prepare meals, baby supplies, including food, diapers and wipes, paper products and cleaning supplies, as well as thermal coolers for storage of any perishables.

Ozarks Food Harvest has a 28-year history in southwest Missouri and has had nearly one dozen member food pantries and feeding sites in Joplin, and even more in Jasper County, for more than a decade.
