August 1, 2006

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Ozarks Health Advocacy Foundation (OHAF) awarded $5,385 to Ozarks Food Harvest, The Food Bank, at a press conference on July 20 held in the warehouse of Ozarks Food Harvest. The foundation also announced its other grant cycle recipients and presented grant awards to area organizations.

The $5,585 grant from OHAF will provide The Food Bank with a Garden Assistant, childcare for garden students, garden equipment, construction materials and classroom supplies for the Full Circle Garden TM program.

Ozarks Food Harvest’s Full Circle Garden TM program teaches low-income families how to grow, harvest and prepare nutritious, organic food using inexpensive methods and products.

OHAF (formerly known as the Visiting Nurse Association Foundation) is a charitable foundation dedicated to the support of critical physical, mental, and dental health needs in the Ozarks. Through financial grants to charitable organizations that address these critical health needs in Southwest Missouri, OHAF is working to improve life in the Ozarks.
