Six Missouri food banks’ child feeding programs receive funding from campaign

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— St. James Winery donated a portion of its spring sales to Feeding America food banks in Missouri to help support local child feeding programs.

Ozarks Food Harvest received a $3,000 donation for its Weekend Backpack Program at a check presentation at the O’Reilly Center for Hunger Relief today. The Backpack Program sends easy-open, kid-friendly food home with at-risk children every weekend of the school year.

Major Brands in Springfield provided promotional support at area retailers, such as Dillons and Hy-Vee, by featuring bright point-of-sale displays during the campaign, March through May. Statewide, St. James donated $14,000 to Missouri food banks’ child programs.

The winery’s Help End Childhood Hunger campaign’s goals were to raise awareness of childhood hunger issues and educate and encourage others to get involved. For the past five years, St. James Winery supported the Backpack Program in St. James, but this was the first year the family winery donated to the Missouri Food Bank Association food banks
