Steak ‘n Shake Partners with Ozarks Food Harvest

November 21, 2006

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Local Steak n Shake restaurants are partnering with Ozarks Food Harvest for the fourth year to deliver Steakburger™ patties to the hungry this holiday season. For every $5 Takhomacard™ gift card purchase, Steak n Shake will donate one Steakburger™ patty to The Food Bank through December 25, 2006.

“We are grateful to be working with Steak n Shake again to help meet the needs of the hungry in the Ozarks,” Denise Gibson, director of development and communications at Ozarks Food Harvest, said. “This partnership is a reminder that every act of giving makes a big difference in the lives of those at risk of hunger.”

Last year, Steak n Shakes nationwide donated more than one million Steakburger™ patties to food banks, with 75 percent of the donations going to those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

“Through the generosity of our associates and guests, Steak n Shake has been able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the hungry,” Peter Dunn, president and CEO of Steak n Shake, said. “In just the fourth year, we are on track to hit a donation milestone. We will give away the two-millionth Steakburger™ patty during the 2006 America’s Second Harvest campaign.”
