Taste of SoMo: The Virtual Edition to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest

June 17, 2020

100 percent of t-shirt sales and online donations will benefit The Food Bank and support food-insecure families

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The annual Taste of SoMo event celebrates local restaurants in the Ozarks. This year, rather than sampling food on Park Central Square, the community is invited to participate virtually.

Taste of SoMo: The Virtual Edition, is scheduled for June 19-27. Interested participants can purchase gift cards, in $5 increments, to participating Downtown establishments, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the restaurants. Gift cards can be used that week for dine-in, delivery or takeout service, or they can be saved for future use.

The DSA and Ozarks Food Harvest have also created a commemorative T-shirt, which bears the slogan “Feed It Forward.” All proceeds from the sale of these T-shirts will go to Ozarks Food Harvest. Participants can also donate to The Food Bank while they purchase their gift cards and T-shirts online at itsalldowntown.com/tasteofsomo

“Changes to this year’s event will allow the community to support so many locally-owned restaurants,” said Denise Gibson, development and communication director at Ozarks Food Harvest. “We’re grateful for this continued partnership with the DSA, and funds raised from t-shirt sales and online donations will help provide meals for families who are struggling right now.”

Last year, Taste of SoMo raised more than 7,300 meals for Ozarks Food Harvest. Taste of SoMo is managed by the DSA and presented by SGC Foodservice.
