Walmart steps up to “Be a Part of the Solution to End Hunger”
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— During the month of March 2006, Wal-mart and Sam’s Club Stores will ask their customers to help raise money to end hunger. Contributions will benefit America’s Second Harvest, the Nation’s Food Bank Network and its members. As a member of America’s Second Harvest, Ozarks Food Harvest, the Food Bank of the Ozarks will receive a portion of all donations from the “Be a Part of Solution to End Hunger” campaign.
Please join Wal-mart, Sam’s Club, America’s Second Harvest, and Ozarks Food Harvest raise money to benefit the people living in poverty across the country and right here in the Ozarks. The next time you shop at Wal-mart you can purchase your “piece of the puzzle” to end hunger from the cashier. Just look for the “Help End Hunger” puzzle pieces at the register. Purchase one for yourself or for someone else, then display it proudly on the store wall. Together we can create a hunger-free Southwest Missouri and North Central Arkansas, and ultimately a hunger-free America.
Please don’t miss this opportunity to participate in the community wide solution to end hunger. More than 38 million Americans, over 36% of whom are children, and nearly 40% of whom are employed, are living on the brink of hunger. Please help Wal-mart, Sam’s Club, and America’s Second Harvest’s members end hunger in our community and in our country.
