Ozarks Food Harvest can feed more hungry families this holiday season thanks to a new partnership with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO).

The Angel Fund and Dillons Supermarket at 1831 West Kearney in Springfield will host a “Meet and Greet with Santa” to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest.
“Cans for Coffee” is a partnership between Ozarks Food Harvest and McDonald’s of the Ozarks to raise food items for the food bank. When customers donate a non-perishable food item they will receive any small coffee for free.
The five Springfield Rotary Clubs and the Rotary Club of Nixa received the Outstanding Philanthropic Service Project of the Year award at the 2009 National Philanthropy Day award ceremony.
Eleven percent of Missourians experience food insecurity and every month, nearly 55,000 citizens of the Ozarks are going to bed hungry. Two corporations, McDonald’s and Tyson Foods (NYSE:TSN), will join together on Monday.
Ozarks Food Harvest — The Food Bank — accepted 45,452 pounds of fresh produce through generous donations from area gardeners since June. That amount is roughly equivalent to the size of what a semi truck would hold.

Congressman Roy Blunt along with Target team members presented a $5,000 donation from Target to Ozarks Food Harvest today at The Food Bank in North Springfield.
