Grocery stores partner with food bank to Check Out Hunger this holiday season
Nearly sixty southwest Missouri grocery stores are teaming up with Ozarks Food Harvest to help Check Out Hunger for the Ozarks during the 18th annual fundraiser that began yesterday and continues until Dec. 31.
Ozarks Food Harvest receives $125,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation
Forty-one pantries and eight feeding sites applied to receive the pass-through grants from Ozarks Food Harvest and Walmart. The agencies will have until March 1 to fundraise in their own communities to receive the dollar-for-dollar matching grant.

Ozarks Food Harvest and iHeartMedia’s 105.9 KGBX will kick off the 18th annual Hungerthon radio-thon tomorrow morning with a goal of raising $125,000 for the Weekend Backpack Program. This initiative gives over 1,600 local children six nutritious meals to take home on the weekends, when hunger is more prevalent.
Ozarks Food Harvest asks community to take action against hunger this month
During Hunger Action Month, Ozarks Food Harvest will encourage those in the Ozarks to take a stand against hunger. Events will be held throughout September to raise awareness and give opportunity for the community to take part in the local effort to solve hunger.
Tyson Foods donating truckload of protein to Ozarks Food Harvest
Ozarks Food Harvest will receive a large donation of protein in honor of the annual McDonald’s of the Ozarks Cans for Coffee food drive, which begins today, Aug. 29. Ozarks Food Harvest is the only food bank in southwest Missouri, distributing more than 14.6 million meals annually to 200 nonprofit agencies.
